Skriven av Slices Of Icons den december 11, 2011 i Senaste, Slices of Icons

An AHC-exclusive cinema ticket inspired by the movie True Romance from 1993; a ”leftover” from Clarence’s and Alabama’s first encounter at the Detroit Vista Theatre.

Filled with both obvious and unobvious in-jokes, for hardcore fans to discover and get a gag out of.

The ticket is glued onto tough, grained paper of the highest quality. The backside of this matte also serves as a CoA.

Approximately 21×30 cm. This collectible can be ordered both framed and unframed.

300 Immortal [RESERVED]

Skriven av Slices Of Icons den december 8, 2011 i Senaste, Slices of Icons

”Immortals … We put their names to the test …”

The long anticipated movie adaption of Frank Miller’s 300 was everything his comicbook was; macho, bloody, intense, beautiful, entertaining and – exaggerated.

Basically every movie depicting an historical event is altered in some way. None however, took the same extreme liberties as 300. But Miller & co never intended it to be true, and have always been the first to acknowledge its fiction.

Then it’s more of a sport to catch the real aspects and events. The depiction of the Spartan society, culture and cruel mentality, the Agora, The Oracles, the influence of women, and – The Immortals.

”The Immortals” was the very elite in the Persian Army. A group consisting of exactly 10.000 highly trained men. If a soldier died, a new one was instantly added to the ranks, thus it appeared that the force was – immortal.

The clash between The Spartans and The Immortals was the first time that The Spartans suffered casualties (in the movie that is).

This highly detailed latex foam mask is a unique, screen used hero-prop. It was attached to an Immortal. Much like everything else in 300, it is hugely over the top, yet it fits perfectly with the production design as a whole.tal and can be clearly seen as The Persian warrior gets unmasked by a Spartan.

Made to be glued onto the actors face, the mask saved valuable time for the Make Up department, as the flexibility allowed additional make up to be kept at a minimum.

Marc West at Abandoned House Collectibles fashioned a ball of foam as a base to hold the mask in place. The surrounding environment is of plaster, poured upon an uneven surface of different-sized pieces of wood. The backdrop was painted in black and dark blue, in order to capture the gloomy feel of the scene.

West also handpainted the wood sign.

Joacim Öhman completed the collectible by creating a black, menacing hood.

Nostromo

Skriven av Slices Of Icons den oktober 9, 2011 i Slices of Icons

The phrase ”Bad company” got a double meaning with 1979s Alien, when a certain Weyland-Yutani Corporation was prepared to sacrifice six crewmembers, one robot and a cat aboard the cargo-vessel USCSS Nostromo.

Their sidemission, was to retrieve a xenomorph. An act that ultimately costed the lifes of everyone except Lieutenant Ellen Ripley and Jones the cat.

The vessel itself was blown to bits in the process. But one object still remains, and here’s your chance to get it!

Exclusive for Abandoned House Collectibles, we present the sign for Nostromo. Alltough amazing-looking on pictures, this piece of art really needs to be experienced live, as the weight, the feel of thin sharp metal and the detailed patina can’t be transfered onto a photo. The holes surrounding the plate are ideal for wallmounting, but this collectible will look just as good standing on DVD-shelf!

  • Available in three different designs; Light, Dark, Rust
  • Measurements: 30×25 cm
  • Material(s): Metal
  • Artist(s): Fredrik ”Washburn” Weileby
  • CoA
  • Payment via PayPal only

Braveheart – Scottish Warrior Pike

Skriven av Slices Of Icons den augusti 22, 2011 i Senaste, Slices of Icons

”We’ll make spears. Long spears, twice as long as a man!”

Straight from the battlefields of Braveheart comes this menacing warrior pike. The edge is cast in iron, which is quite remarkable since 95 % of all prop weapons in the industry are made of rubber due to safety.

AHC has added a crude handle, carved out in wood. It has then been broken off to simulate the aftermath of a fierce clash, but also to make it fit into our already huge 90×20 cm display. The display is cloth in leather, and has a tear across it, revealing Wallace warpaint.

Doomsday – ”Got Mace?”

Skriven av Slices Of Icons den augusti 16, 2011 i Senaste, Slices of Icons

”Mankind has an expiration date.”

This here is a screen used mace from the post apocalyptic actionflick Doomsday. Like all stunt props, it’s made of rubber, due to sissy actors who where afraid of bruises. But that doesn’t stop it from looking really really gnarly.

The prop comes with an 90×20 cm display piece, made to look like a cut out from a Glasgow-ghetto wall 2-3 decades into the future (That’s right, we know what they’ll look like then!).
